The round, copper-colored bulbs, tightly wrapped, are renowned for their crunchy consistency, long storage life, and delightfully bold yet medium-heat taste. This variety, called Newburg, has surpassed hybrid ones in comparative testing conducted under organic conditions, serving as a remarkable substitute for the traditional hybrid onion, Copra. Despite its similar name, it was not named after the town of Newberg, Oregon, but rather discovered and brought to us by Dr. Alan Kapuler in Corvallis, Oregon - a true gem.
